History

Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Centre for Academic Integrity officially started its activities with the Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 24 January 2021. The activities that provided the basis for the establishment of the Centre before the establishment process are presented under the "Projects" and "Publications" tabs.

Aim and Fields of Activity of the Centre

Aim of the Centre

Our Centre aims to develop institutional policies in order to raise awareness of academic integrity in associate, undergraduate and graduate programmes, including preparatory classes of all units affiliated to the University. In this direction, the Centre aims to provide recommendations to the relevant boards on the identification of issues that may cause violations of academic integrity and the implementation of sanctions, in addition to the establishment and continuity of the institutional academic integrity culture. In making these recommendations, the relevant regulations prepared by the Council of Higher Education and the principles of academic integrity determined by relevant international organisations such as the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI) and the International Centre for Academic Integrity (ICAI) are taken into consideration.

Areas of activity of the Centre

The fields of activity of the Centre are as follows:

a) To plan and organise social, scientific or research activities such as training programmes, placement exams, surveys, interviews, seminars, workshops, symposiums, conferences, etc. to create a culture of academic integrity in the units where the University conducts education, training and research activities; to plan and carry out all these activities in a face-to-face or distance education/participation manner according to changing and developing conditions,

b) To support the processes of conducting education, training and research activities in line with the objectives of the University and the needs of the relevant units in accordance with the principles of academic integrity,

c) To contribute to the establishment of University-Private Sector Collaborations for the development of institutional academic integrity culture and policies,

d) Within the scope of its fields of activity, to negotiate with domestic and foreign higher education institutions, educational institutions, vocational certification bodies, public and private sector organisations, to prepare projects, to establish cooperation and to provide consultancy services on specified issues,

e) To plan and carry out activities related to the promotion of the Centre,

f) To carry out other activities in accordance with the purpose of the Centre.
